Army Corps of Engineers Invasive Species Traveling Trunk
Traveling Trunk Basics: The USACE Invasive Species Leadership Team has developed the Traveling Trunk, an interactive product for use in educating the public about invasive species. There is an archived webinar program on the Traveling Trunk from March 2017.
Trunk POCs: There are designated POCs across USACE who maintain the Traveling Trunks and can ship them to you.
Borrowing the Trunk: To borrow the Traveling Trunk for your project, complete the request form and submit it to the POC closest to you. They will ship the trunk to you for 10 days and you will be responsible for shipping it back to them.
Receiving the Trunk: suggest: When you receive the trunk, you'll immediately inventory the items and check off all of the "received" items on the form and note any discrepancies on the bottom comment box. You'll initial, date and sign the form (as the Receiver) and then immediately e-mail a copy to your POC.
Post Event: When you're finished with the trunk, you'll complete the 2nd inventory form at the packer/shipper column before shipping the trunk out. Initial, date and sign the forms (as the sender) and return the trunk with the hardcopies to your POC. Be sure to replace items in accordance with the inventory layer format and form. We would also appreciate your completing the Evaluation and Usage Records and providing them to your Trunk POC.
This is a great educational tool that will help us educate audiences about invasive species.
