Recreation
Headquarters POC
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is the largest provider of water-based outdoor recreation in the nation. More than 400 lakes and river projects in 43 states provide a wide range of recreational opportunities. Ninety percent of our recreation areas are located within 50 miles of a major metropolitan center. These opportunities serve diverse populations in a sustainable, safe and healthful manner.
This knowledge management page is for the Recreation Community of Practice (CoP) responsible for the USACE Recreation Program. The Recreation CoP includes all Corps employees who provide recreational services or support, as well as external entities with recreational interests. USACE Recreation Program planning and management activities provide for quality outdoor recreation opportunities that benefit individuals, communities, the environment and the economy.
