Tactical Communication
Headquarters POC
Tactical Communication refers to verbal techniques Park Rangers utilize to generate compliance, cooperation, and collaboration through persuasion, defusing situations to avoid conflict, redirecting uncooperative visitors to obtain a positive outcome, recognizing potentially dangerous situations, and reducing the risk of verbal and physical attack. Visitor Assistance training curriculum places an emphasis on using the lowest level of enforcement to obtain compliance and tactical communication techniques may allow Park Rangers to resolve user conflicts without issuing citations or calling for assistance from law enforcement agencies.
