Children and Nature/Nature Deficit Disorder

Introduction:
Author Richard Louv first used the term “nature deficit disorder” in his book “Last Child in the Woods” to describe the growing disconnect between children and their natural environment. MG Don Riley of the Corps participates in Federal Land Management Agency Head Roundtable meetings twice a year. The group devoted their September 2007 meeting to Children and Nature/Nature Deficit Disorder to highlight what each agency is doing and to coordinate activities between agencies.
