New USACE Safety Signs Approved
Mr. Thomas P. Smith, Chief of Operations and Regulatory HQUSACE, has approved three new
safety signs for general use throughout the Corps. The wording for these signs is as follows:
- Caution || Shooting Range | Do Not Enter Until Firing Line Is Secured
- Danger || Deafening Underwater Noise and Turbulence | No Swimming or Anchoring.
- Danger || Water Subject to Sudden Turbulence | No Swimming or Anchoring
Wording for safety signs is managed by HQUSACE. The Sign Standards Manual (EP 310-1-
6 a and b) has a listing of safety signs (Caution, Warning, Danger) approved for general use.
Requests for deviations will be considered on a case-by- case basis with the final decision
being made by HQUSACE (CECW-CON), per EP 1130-2-500, 6-3 b.
