VERS (Visitor Estimating Reporting System) Banner

Visitation by

    Visits
The entry of one person into a recreation area or site to carryon one or more recreational activities.
Note that in order to align better with other federal agencies and also to provide a consistent reporting and application mechanism for our use, the Camping visit is now reported as per person per night (as opposed to the old per person per trip basis). For example, two campers stay 4 nights in our campground will now be counted as 8 visits (instead of 2 as in the old reporting system). No change to how we count day use visits.

    Visitor Hours
The presence of one or more persons on an area of land or water for the purpose of engaging in one or more recreational activities during continuous, intermittent, or simultaneous periods of time aggregating 60 minutes.
