Program Summary

2019 - On March 12, 2019, the John D. Dingell Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act (formerly known as the Natural Resources Management Act, now Public Law 116-9) became law. As one of the largest conservation bills in recent history, this law includes provisions to authorize several initiatives, changes, and authorizations including the Every Kid Outdoors Program (formerly EKIP).

2015 - In the lead up to the 100th birthday of the National Park Service in 2016, President Obama announced “Every Kid Outdoors” initiative as a call to action to get all children to visit and enjoy America’s unparalleled outdoors.
