Invasive Species Costs Template - Suspense: 13 March 2009
1. The data call for Expenditures for Invasive Species, including Aquatic Plant Management,
will take place Feb 10 Mar 13. You are receiving this email because you have been identified
as a Point of Contact to provide species and costs information for your project, District, or
Division.
2. This data call supports efforts by HQ and the field to obtain credible,
comprehensive information on the species addressed and the costs incurred by Corps
Planning and Operations elements. Credible information is necessary to make realistic plans
and program requests for the future and to provide necessary information for efforts of the
National Invasive Species Council, for their requests to Congress. The Invasive Species Costs
Template was developed to assist in identifying:
- Species that are
addressed by Corps activities-coordination, detection, prevention, control and management,
restoration, research, and mapping.
- Fiscal Year 2008 costs for the seven cost categories
included in Corps guidance.
3. The attached Powerpoint file (IS User Guide
09.ppt) provides guidance to inputting data to the Costs Template. The template is accessed
through the Invasive Species Leadership Team web-page on the Natural Resources
Management Gateway - http://corpslakes.
usace.army.mil/employees/invasive/invasive.cfm
4. As with any new system
of this type, there will be questions on what is included, what is not, and how to navigate
through the system. Questions should be directed to Mr. Jim E. Henderson, Environmental
Lab. Questions pertaining to the web or internet should be directed to Ms. Ginny Dickerson
(virginia.l.dickerson@usace.army.mil, 601.634.4261).
