USACE Signs Policy-Army Star Logo
Although the current COVID-19 threat has our immediate attention we continue to move the existing workload. At the direction of LTG Semonite, both Civil Works and Military Programs moved forward with an initiative to add the Army Star Logo to the sign standards at our civil works and construction projects. I appreciate your efforts to add decals to signs that currently meet the standards and encourage you to continue that process.
The attached memo, signed by Mr. Thomas P. Smith, Chief of Operations and Regulatory is effective immediately and modifies the Standard Identification sign to include the Army star logo. The attached memorandum specifies details resulting from the update. This specific change applies only to Standard Identification signs. This change is in addition to the 31 Jan 2020 re-design of the Construction Identification signs.
The sign factory at UNICOR (Federal Prison Industries) and the Corps sign shops have been briefed on the change and are prepared to produce compliant signs in accordance with this new guidance.
Please direct any questions to district Sign Program Managers, whose names are listed at the "Division & District POCs" link on the National Sign Standards Program page on the NRM Gateway, located at https://corpslake s.erdc.dren.mil/employees/sign/sign.cfm. District Sign Program Managers with questions should consult their division Sign Program Managers/Sign Advisory Work Group representatives.
Thank you for your efforts on this program that further recognizes the important role of Army in our USACE missions. My point of contact on this effort is A.J. Jensen, National Sign Program Manager and can be reached at (816) 389-3840 or aj.jensen@usace.army.mil
