Excellence In Partnership And Volunteer of the Year Award Nominations - Suspense 15 December
The Excellence in Partnership and the Volunteer of the Year are two excellent opportunities to recognize external individuals and organizations that are significantly contributing to the capacity of the Corps to serve the public and protect natural resources. I am asking your leadership and support of these awards by encouraging your projects to take the time and effort to submit these nominations. It has been an honor to be present at some of the award presentations, so I know firsthand what they mean to our partners and volunteers. The partners and volunteers who have won these awards have said that receiving them was the highest honor (there have even been some tears of joy by awardees)!

Nominations must be submitted no later than 15 December, through the Districts to MSCs. The nomination forms are attached.

The Corps Foundation co-sponsors both of these awards and helps the Corps to recognize and publicize the winners. The awards will be presented in the spring of 2018 at the award recipients' locations, in ceremonies that recognize their outstanding partnerships and service to the Corps.

Excellence in Partnership Award: The Excellence in Partnerships Award recognizes exceptional contributions by a partner providing substantial support to the Corps Recreation and/or Environmental Stewardship programs.

Volunteer of the Year Award: The National Volunteer Award began recognizes the extraordinary service provided by volunteers, draw attention to their vast skills and contributions, and encourage an attitude of stewardship and responsibility in caring for Corps lands, facilities, and resources.

Nominations must be routed through each District to the MSC. Each MSC recreation/stewardship business line manager will electronically forward nomination packages assembled in accordance with the enclosed criteria and instructions to Mrs. Taylor Saia, at taylor.q.saia@usace.army.mil no later than 15 December 2017. A selection committee will review the nominations and provide recommendations for final selection.
