16 Apr 2024 - USACE National Water Safety Committee Meeting
The USACE National Water Safety Committee held their annual meeting at the Cape Cod Canal Project, 12-14 March 2024. Park Ranger Samantha Gray gave a presentation to the committee on the history of the Cape Cod Canal and their water safety initiatives and assisted them on a tour of the project, which included a patrol boat ride up and down the canal and a stop at their visitor center. During the meeting the committee discussed public recreation fatalities and trends, promotional product development, water safety campaigns and initiatives, and brainstormed ideas on how to promote water safety to adults and increase life jacket wear. |
