19 Mar 2019 - USACE National Water Safety Committee Meeting
The USACE National Water Safety Committee held their annual meeting at the Carlyle Lake Visitor Center, 12-14 March 2019. Carlyle Lake Interpretive Services and Outreach Park Rangers gave a presentation to the committee on their water safety initiatives, which included MedStar Ambulance Service showcasing their water safety awareness ambulance, and took them on a tour of the lake. During the meeting the committee discussed public recreation fatalities and trends, promotional product development, water safety campaigns and initiatives, and judged the National Water Safety Photo Contest. The committee met with the Corps Foundation's Special Programs Director who gave an update on how U.S. Coast Guard grant funding is being used to support the Life Jackets Worn...Nobody Mourns campaign. |
