Headquarters POC

Recreation.gov (formally NRRS-National Recreation Reservation Service) was established as part of the President’s E-Government Initiative, Recreation One-Stop (R1S) as a partnership between several federal agencies to provide recreation reservation services under authority granted by § 206 of the 2000 Water Resources Development Act. Section 206 which provides that, notwithstanding section 611 of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act, USACE may “(1) participate in the National Recreation Reservation Service on an interagency basis….

The goals of Recreation.gov are:

  • To provide customers a robust, reliable, innovative and flexible approach to providing recreation information and comprehensive travel planning and reservation services
  • To provide customers an end-to-end recreation experience viewed as a multi-phased process: dream, plan, experience and share.
