Signs on Jetties, Groins or Breakwaters - Need for Signage Review
MSC and District Ops Chiefs: In the attached memo, I am alerting you to the need for a review of any signage on coastal structures that includes the message "Proceed at Your Own Risk." This message was removed from the 2006 edition of the Sign Standards Manual (EP 310-1-6a, Chapter 14) because it may be confusing to visitors at our coastal projects. Any signs still posted at these USACE structures should be reviewed in accordance with the attached memo.
