OMBIL PSA Verification Process Webcasts
As per earlier emails, the Project Site Area PDT established criteria for identifying a Recreation Area PSA including definitions and requirements for each subtype. The approved and adopted final report is attached. In order to check the existing recreation areas in OMBIL against the new requirements, a verification process has been established. This is the process that projects/districts will use to designate new areas, areas for deletion, areas that need renaming, etc.
Webcasts to facilitate the verification process will be offered as follows:

District POCS are responsible for ensuring that the project recreation areas list is complete and accurate. It is highly recommended that each District POC participate in the webcasts. Webcasts are also open to the field staff.
Verification process timeline:
1. December 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011, project staff will review and verify the existing Recreation PSAs at their project utilizing the specifically designed spreadsheet and the final report. The final list will be sent to the District POC for approval.
2. January 1, 2012 through January 18, 2012, District POCs will confirm and submit the district list to the Division POC for sign off and OMBIL NRM User's Group for action.
3. January 18, 2012 through January 31, 2012, Division POCs will review the final list of recreation PSAs for their division.
4. January 31, 2012, final approved and verified list will be submitted to the NRM User's group for action.
5. February 1, 2012 through February 15, 2012, the approved list will be confirmed and provided to ERDC for inclusion in this year's RecBEST cycle.
The final list of Recreation PSAs for the project will be used to establish the areas in VERS. This effort will result in more consistent numbers being reported for the budget process.
