    2011 Take Pride in America National Awards. Suspense 6 May 2011
    Take Pride in America Seeks Nominations for Outstanding Volunteers and Volunteer Projects for 2011 National Awards

    Nominations are being accepted now through May 6 on the Take Pride in America website  www.TakePride.gov. Please note: These awards are for Corps volunteers. Corps nominations for the TPIA Federal Land Manager award are not submitted via this process (Reference memo sent via email from Mary Coulombe on 17 March).

    Every year, Take Pride in America presents the National Awards to individuals, companies and groups who have volunteered their time and talent to our federal, state, and local public lands and waterways. This is a great way to recognize exceptional volunteers and say 'Thank You!' There are 10 categories: 1. Individual  a single person
    2. School Program  a group of students, a school club, a classroom or an entire school.
    3. Youth/ Youth Group  an individual our group of young people under the age of 26 4. Corporation or Business  a corporation, business or other for-profit organization 5. Non-Profit Organization  a civic group or 501(c)(3) organization 6. Faith-Based Group  a religious or faith-based organization 7. Federal Volunteer Event/ Program  a federal agency, project, or program 8. Local Government Event/ Program  a city, county or otherwise local government event, project or program 9. State Event/ Program  a statewide event, project or program 10. Public/ Private Partnership  a partnership project between a government agency and a private business or corporation, youth, civic or non-profit organization

    Anyone may submit a nomination; self-nominations are accepted and encouraged!

    Nominations are due May 6, 2011 by 12 noon EST. Applications must be submitted online at www.TakePride.gov/awardAP.cfm Nominated projects and efforts must have been started and/ or completed between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011. Winners will be chosen by a selection committee and are invited to attend an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on July 19, 2011, where the TPIA Federal Land Manager Award will also be presented.
