    Legends and Beacon Award Nominations. Suspense: 18 April 2011
    Enclosed is the request for nominations for the American Recreation Coalition's Legends and Beacon Awards. The Legends Award is presented annually to a Corps employee that recognizes an outstanding and significant contributions to the enhancement of outdoor recreation resources, facilities and experiences. .

    The Beacon award recognizes an initiative that represents the innovative use of technology to enhance visitor services and improve the management of recreation programs. ARC makes the final selection for the Beacon award.

    These are prestigious awards given by each federal land management agency and demonstrate our agency's commitment to excellence.

    Nomination and selection criteria are enclosed. Only one nomination per MSC will be accepted. Please make every effort submit an outstanding individual and an initiative (may include multiple individuals). This is a chance to recognize the best of the best!
