FY 09 Forest Pest Suppression Funding - Suspense 30 September 2008
I ask that you forward this E-Mail and attachment to your Project counterparts. The USFS Forest Pest Suppression Program is free to our projects. This is a great opportunity for our projects to get assistance and 100 % free funding from the FS if they are experiencing problems such as emerald ash borer, gypsy moths, oak wilt, southern pine beetles, etc.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me. FY 09 Proposals for funding are due back to me no later that close of business on 30 September, 2008. Projects can E-Mail their proposals to me (provided they are coordinated with their District and Division). Participation in the FPS program is voluntary. However, I do strongly enclorage you to ensure coordination with the Regional Office of USFS concerning any proposal a project would submit. That effort significantly increases the posibility of having a proposal approved.

The Enclosure contains 5 attachments:
1. Outline of steps for requesting USFS funding for FPS
2. Outline for the program and responsibilities of each party.
3. List of POC's and Regional Offices of USFS to contact for assistance.
4. Application Form 3400.
5. Format for reporting use of FY 08 Funds if received.
