    New Senior Advisor for Environmental Compliance-HQ
    I am pleased to announce that Mr. John Coho has been selected for the position of national Senior Advisor on Environmental Compliance in the Operations Directorate, Natural Resources Management Branch, Headquarters. John will be starting in the HQ on September 2.

    John comes from the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations and Environment), Business Enterprise Integration Directorate where he has worked since 2004. John has been leading the joint implementation of the DoD hazardous materials business process reengineering initiative in close cooperation with OSD Supply Chain Integration, the Military Departments and Defense Logistics Agency. He joined the OSD staff in 2001 and led joint initiatives that established DoD policies on environmental management systems, green procurement and qualified recycling programs, as well as business process and data standards for hazardous materials management in DoD. From 1994-2001 he served in the Pentagon on the Air Staff and the Air Force Secretariat. John had a 24-year military career; he was commissioned as an Air Force Bioenvironmental Engineer in 1984, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2001.

    John received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Penn State University and a master of engineering in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a licensed professional engineer (Texas). John completed Professional Military Education through the level of Air Command and Staff College.
