Sen Chambliss Introduces Fee Retention Legislation
We have some movement on recreation fee retention (FLREA) legislation. On July 22, Sen. Chambliss (GA) introduced the companion bill to HR 4304 (Sponsors--AR delegation, bi-partisan) which would give the Corps the same authorities as BOR under FLREA (would get us under FLREA). Since there are bills in both the House and the Senate, we feel that there may be some hope. Sen. Staff in other states may be interested. Here is the info.

    S 3305
    Sponsor: Chambliss (R-Ga.), Co-Sponsor, Isakson (R. GA).
    Introduced: 7/22/2008.
A bill to authorize the secretary of the Army to establish, modify, charge, and collect recreation fees with respect to land and water administered by the Corps of Engineers.

Referred to Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
Related Bills: See HR 4304 for bill text.
