Beacon Award 2008 Selection
The Director of Civil Works signed the above memorandum today announcing the American Recreation Coalition (ARC) has chosen the St Louis District's Rivers Project Office and its Pike's Passage, Mississippi River Water Trail Development as the US Army Corps of Engineers recipient of the 2008 Beacon Award.

ARC created this award to recognize leadership and innovation in utilizing technology to enhance visitor services and recreation management on public lands and waters. Pike's Passage provides recreational opportunities along the Mississippi River for access, day use and overnight camping to the boating public. This effort was accomplished in collaboration with many local, state and federal partners.
