National Geographic Book on Scenic Waterways
Folks, NGS would like to meet with me next week to talk about the Corps' examples the America's best Scenic Waterways. I would like you to provide me with your BEST example of those lakes/river segments that would meet the following criteria:
    1. Extremely Scenic
    2. Water Access--road and/or boat access
    3. Local community with charm and other attractions--name communities
    4. Types of rec. opportunities
    5. Area can be already high visibility/visitation--like St. Michaels Maryland, but can also be off the beaten track. Maybe a real secret gem.
    6. An area that might have good partnerships with the local community

Think about the average traveler, looking for a beautiful, fun place to visit that shows off the best of Corps Lakes/Waterways.

This doesn't have to be an exhaustive description. One sentence or two for each criteria would be fine. Also, if you have a good picture of the area, please include.

This is a wonderful opportunity to raise the visibility of the Corps properties, expand partnerships, and continue to raise local support.

If you could send me the info by next Monday, April 14, I would appreciate it.

    Respectfully,
    Mary J. Coulombe
