USACE Picnic Park Ranger Selection - Suspense 4 June 2007
    1. The National Operations Center for Water Safety has once again been invited to provide water safety activities for the HQs Organization Day picnic scheduled for July 13, 2007 near Washington D.C. We are currently seeking six quality interpretive/water safety park rangers who have not participated in one of the national-level events (water safety, Lewis and Clark, Boy Scout Jamboree, etc.) during the past four years. Organization Day planners have asked that the rangers lead hands-on water safety activities, so we ask that applicants include a short description of one child's or adult's level activity they would like to conduct during the event.

    2. Districts may forward as many applications as practical to Lynda Nutt; however please assure that proper supervisory approval is given for each park ranger to be away from his/her regular duties from 11-14 July.

    3. TDY expenses for this travel will be covered by the National Operations Center for Water Safety.

    4. Applications should be submitted to Lynda Nutt NLT June 4, 2007. Email applications are acceptable.

    5. Park Ranger participation at this annual picnic and other high profile HQ events has proven to be very beneficial for our Natural Resources Management Program. We have been able to showcase our quality team members in the presence of the Corps top Command staff, which has resulted in further support for our NRM program. I appreciate your support in nominating your best and brightest for this excellent opportunity.

    Mary J. Coulombe
