The Legends Award is presented annually to recognize an outstanding individual for his/her significant contributions to the enhancement of outdoor recreation resources, facilities and experiences on the nation's public lands.

The Beacon Award is presented to recognize outstanding initiatives where new technologies have provided improved, cost-effective solutions to the needs of recreation programs.

The awards winners will be recognized during Great Outdoors Week (11 - 14 June 2007) in Washington, DC where the awards will be presented.
