Wego Kite Tube Withdrawn From Market - Further Review To Be Conducted By Corps Task Force

1. This message is being sent to update you on recent news related to the Wego Kite Tube and the Corps task force which has been charted to look into this activity.

2. As you will see in this US Consumer Product Safety Commission news release, the product has been withdrawn from the market, in view of the recent reports of fatalities and serious accidents. http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml06/06210.html

3. Because the Wego product is only one of several versions of available kite tubes on the market, we will continue our review work on this activity. A special task group led by Lynda Nutt, NOC for Water Safety, and Charles Burger, Visitor Assistance Program lead, has been chartered and will continue their review of the issues and provide recommendations to HQs leadership.
