Register your event for Kids to Parks Day 2022
Now that it’s spring, it’s time to start thinking about great ways to get kids into the outdoors and start preparing for Kids to Parks Day 2022 which will take place on May 21. This year marks the 12th annual Kids to Parks Day sponsored by our partners at the National Park Trust. Don’t worry if May 21st doesn’t work for your scheduled event– as a way to ensure everyone can participate in this nationwide initiative, National Park Trust is happy to include any event in May that invites kids and families to get outdoors.

To register your event and be included on the interactive event map, visit: https://parktrust.org/kids-to-parks-day/kids-to-parks-day-event- registration/

After you register your event(s), here are a few resources to help you prepare for the day:

  • Kids to Parks Day Event Host Guide - use this 7-step guide to promote and plan your event so your community has an awesome park experience.
  • Promotional photos for social, email, website and more
  • Media Outreach Calendar - use this planning document to supercharge your event promotion and stay on-track

In 2019, National Park Trust brought over 1.1 million families outside to 1,500 events across the country and captured 36 million social media impressions with #KidstoParks. In 2022, we want to ensure that all families know about the great things happening in their local recreation areas and how they can recreate outside responsibly and safely.

When your event is done - let us know how it went. At the end of May, we'll send out a request for your Kids to Parks Details (# of partners, # attendees, summary of what happened).

Remember - If any 4th graders attend, they have the added incentive of earning their Every Kid Outdoors Pass: https://everykidoutdoors.gov/index .htm

Tasha Alexander, CAP detailee in HQUSACE will be the program lead for this year's Kids to Parks Day events. If you have any questions regarding this program or you need any assistance registering your activity or event, please contact her at (434) 738-6143 X 6164 or email tasha.l.alexander@usace.army.mil Y

ou may also contact Ivan Levin at the National Park Trust directly. 540-818- 5818, ivan@parktrust.org Thanks,
