New Master National Cooperative Agreement with Student Conservation Association
I'm pleased to announce a new master national cooperative agreement that USACE has entered into with the Student Conservation Association (SCA), under the authority of Sec 213(a) of WRDA 2000. This authority allows USACE to enter into cooperative agreements with non- Federal public or nonprofit entities for services related to natural resource conservation or recreation management of Civil Works projects to further training and educational opportunities. The new agreement with SCA is set up for one year plus three option years and is effective 1 February 2021.

The Fort Worth District will continue to administer the new agreement and process all work orders. Procedures to request SCA interns and crews will be available on the NRM Gateway: https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/partners/national.cfm? Partner=sca. There are also sample work order documents, success stories, and the new agreement posted on this page.

Now is a great time to recruit interns or work crews for the summer or fall seasons. A webinar will be provided on Wednesday, February 17 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Eastern to explain the types of work that SCA interns and crews can do for USACE and the process to obtain interns/crews.

I'd like to add my thanks to the team of people in Fort Worth District and the selection committee who worked diligently over the past year and a half to make this a reality and set up the new agreement with no break in service from the expiration of the prior master agreement. Your knowledge, expertise, and hard work are much appreciated!

Our POCs in Fort Worth are Ms. Jennifer Linde at (817) 886-1578, Ms. Alice Austin at (817) 886-1267, and Ms. Sandy Justman at (817) 886-1073. Our HQUSACE point of contact for this initiative is Heather Burke, National Partnerships Program Manager at 503-808-4313.
