Shoreline Management Program Review and Way Ahead
The attached policy memo directs the Operations and Real Estate communities of practice to
develop solutions for the USACE Shoreline Management Program and associated real estate
licenses. The objective is to continue moving the shoreline management program toward an
approach that is more sustainable and standardized. The Real Estate Division will work with
the MSCs on the development of a regional real estate administrative fee schedule specific to
the tasks associated with entering into a license.
The Natural Resource Management
Branch in Operations will evaluate updates and options under Title 36 to recover costs and
standardize shoreline management practices. A Product Delivery Team with membership from
the natural resource and real estate communities will be established to assess program
efficiency and standardization, while continuing on the path to recover appropriate fees for the
shoreline management permits. I ask that you place a priority on responding to inquiries from
these communities.
Any questions or clarifications shall be directed to our primary
points of contact, Mr. POC for Operations is Jeremy Crossland (202.761.4259,
jeremy.m.crossland@uace.army.mil) and for Real Estate is Mr. Bobby Roberts (202.761.0057,
bobby.l.roberts@usace.army.mil).
Thank you,
Tom
