Environmental Stewardship (ENS) 101 Class Announcement
Please see attached announcement and details for the next two sessions of the ENS 101 course. This course is designed for Corps NRM staff to gain an understanding of the guiding principles of the USACE environmental stewardship program and build an awareness of the resources available to support management of an ENS program at the project level.

The inaugural class held at J. Percy Priest Lake in the Nashville District earlier this year received great reviews from the participants, with 100% stating that the training provided them with skills or conceptual understanding that will allow them to do their job better. The opportunity to visit a few Corps sites during the field trip sessions and see ENS principles in action was also a big hit with the participants.

The next two course dates are:

  • August 19, 2019 (Monday starting at 1200 Hours) - August 22, 2019 (Thursday concluding at 1630 hours). Course Location: Saylorville Lake, Johnston, IA

  • February 3, 2020 (Monday starting at 1200 Hours) - February 6, 2020 (Thursday concluding at 1630 hours). Course Location: J Strom Thurmond Lake, Clarks Hill, SC

Please note the registration suspense dates:

  • August 2019 Class: Registration is required by April 15, 2019.
  • February 2020 Class: Registration is required by July 15, 2020.

There is no tuition cost for this class. Instructions for registration are in the second attachment (ENS 101 Administrative Details).

Please share and encourage attendance where feasible. If you have any questions that are not already answered in the documents, please contact Tara Whitsel at tara.j.whitsel@usace.army.mil or Jeremy Crossland at jeremy.m.crossland@usace.army.mil

    Thank you,

Heather Burke Acting Environmental Stewardship Business Line Manager, HQUSACE
