USACE 8-hour Motorboat Operator Refresher Training Manual
As referenced in my previous message ("USACE 24-hour Motorboat Operator Training Manual"), attached is the new USACE 8-hr Motorboat Operator Refresher Training Manual for your use in conducting your small boat operator training program per ER 385- 1-91, "Training Testing, and Licensing of Small Boat Operators". As with the 24-hr manual, this document has been prepared to help advance standardization and adherence to the revised small boat operator policy contained in the 1 March 2018 memorandum, "Revised Policy - USACE Small Boat Operator Training Program" (also attached).

This manual was developed by the Small Boat Operator PDT, and chaired by Art Ruebenson to conduct a thorough review of the program and provide recommendations for program modifications. Please use this manual in conducting your refresher training and provide comments and suggestions to Mr. Ruebenson, PDT chairperson, or myself as we revise the document where necessary for publishing as an EM at a later date. Please note that the course schedule can be altered to meet local requirements as long as the subjects listed in the manual are included in the total curriculum.

Also attached for your convenience are Word copies of the Model Training Agreement (MOU between the Army/USACE and the non-Federal entity) and the Acknowledgement of Risk form as referenced in the above policy memo.
