Public Lands Alliance Conference (formerly APPL) Convention 25 February - 1 March 2018
The 2018 Public Lands Alliance (PLA), formerly called the Association of Partners for Public Lands (APPL) will hold its annual conference in Palm Springs, California 25 February to 1 March 2018. The PLA convention provides an opportunity to learn how partners can assist the Corps in the management and stewardship of its lands and facilities. The convention features keynote sessions, concurrent workshops, networking sessions, and a trade show. The convention schedule will be posted at: http://www.publicland salliance.org/convention/home.
Educational sessions will focus on leveraging resources through partnerships, connecting to local communities, and developing strong leadership. Program topics typically include product and program development, program evaluation and research, nonprofit management and operations, board development, advocacy, marketing and communications, nonprofit fundraising and philanthropy. Priority attendance should go to Corps NRM staff who have never attended an APPL/PLA convention in the past. Partner organizations such as Corps cooperating associations may also find value in attending. Those interested in attending should thoroughly review the conference agenda to determine if it meets their needs and learning objectives prior to registering.
Please note that HQUSACE will not be preparing a consolidated conference approval request package and that all interested individuals must obtain attendance approval through their own district/MSC. For further information on the conference approval policy, please contact your district conference POC for guidance.
