National Public Lands Day Reminder September 30
The Corps has 76 sites registered. Because this is such an outstanding volunteer event and opportunity, I'd like to encourage all the projects to consider hosting a NPLD event, but it does not actually have to be on September 30. You can register events taking place between Sept 1 and October 14. If your site has not yet registered, be sure to register before September 22 so that your site can receive the fee free coupons to hand out to volunteers.
Registration can be completed at https://www.neefusa.org/pld-registration for events taking place between September 1st-October 14th.
The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) would very much like to recognize outstanding volunteers! For NPLD 2017, please take note and pictures of top volunteers so that they can receive the recognition that they deserve!
NEEF has updated the promotional toolkit (https://www.neefusa.org/resource/national-public- lands-day-2017-site-manager-promotional-toolkit) and added a new NPLD hashtag. This year, NEEF is focused on using National Public Lands Day to highlight all the different reasons people care about, visit, and enjoy public lands. On September 30th, NEFF and the Corps are encouraging NPLD volunteers to upload short videos to social media demonstrating and discussing why they care about public lands and share them using #WhyICare. We look forward to seeing videos from all of you!
The deadline to register an event and request fee-free coupon is September 22nd. We cannot guarantee that requests made after that date will be fulfilled in a timely manner.
