USACE Corps Watch Property Protection Program
he attached memorandum, signed by Karen Durham-Aguilera, Director of Contingency Operations, and myself establishes revised policy covering the USACE Corps Watch Property Protection Program. Signed into law under WRDA 2000, this "neighborhood watch" style program with a national toll-free phone line, has been a successful deterrent in reducing vandalism and other damage at our Civil Works projects. The revised policy has been expanded to cover suspicious behavior in support of the Army's i-Watch Community Awareness Program where USACE is forwarding all suspicious terrorist-related activity to the FBI. Under the revised program, USACE will no longer be offering a monetary reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a person committing a crime.
New Corps Watch posters are now available for downloading at the link specified in the memorandum. The attached poster is provided as reference, however, for maximum quality, posters should be downloaded from the link. Please replace all existing Corps Watch posters with the new posters. To reduce inappropriate phone calls on the national phone line, projects are encouraged to include local lake information and emergency phone numbers on the posters.

We look forward to the continued successful operation of this program and ask that you fully support Corps Watch at USACE Civil Works projects.
