    Annual Command Water Safety Message
As we move into our peak recreation season and associated expansion in public use of our beautiful lake and river amenities, it's once again time to reinforce the Corps' commitment to public water safety. As always, ensuring water safety remains a top command priority and the attached FY 16 DCG-CEO water safety message from MG Ed Jackson helps underscore that imperative. His message asks that all MSC and district commands ensure that water safety be fully supported by all applicable directorates and offices, including Operations, Safety, Security, Public Affairs, Office of Counsel and Real Estate. Directorates should work together to develop, promote, and implement mutually supportive water safety actions and programs.

A key part of our program is the new campaign, "Life Jacket Worn....Nobody Mourns." The attached Resource Guide can assist your districts and projects to effectively leverage the campaign.

The Corps is fully committed to ensuring that visitors to our lake and river projects have a safe and enjoyable experience. The professionalism, actions, and commitment of our park rangers, managers, and others working at the field level are instrumental in helping reduce the number of public fatalities and accidents. They are indispensable and remain vital to any effective water safety campaign.

Please assure appropriate distribution of attached memorandum throughout your command. Thanks for all you and your teams do every day. Have a Safe Summer!

    Best,
    Eddie
