Every Kid in a Park Reporting - Suspense 14 June 2016
All of us at HQ appreciate your sincere dedication to continually providing outstanding service to our public. Through your initiative and efforts, the Every Kid in the Park (EKIP) program has been, and continues to be a growing Corps success story. The EKIP program has been implemented across seven Federal agencies including the Corps. With the combined effort by of all of you and your peers within the other agencies, this program stands to ensure our next generation will have experienced and learned to appreciate our Federal lands, waters and parks.

We have the opportunity to showcase your outstanding service to America's youth by highlighting your efforts internally, between the seven agencies, externally to congress, the administration and the public. To accomplish this, we have developed the attached spreadsheet (EKIP Engagement Report) with a few columns to complete about each of your EKIP engagements/activities. Please note the EKIP reporting quarters are not aligned with the traditional FY and annual quarters. The quarters are December to February, March to May, June to August and September to November. This was based on the program starting in Sept. 2015 and unfortunately cannot be changed at this time.

Districts, please make sure that the Projects forward your quarterly reports to your district EKIP coordinator within one week after the end of the quarter. The district coordinator will send a compiled report to Michael.G.Richards@usace.army.mil .

****Reports from the district coordinators are due two weeks after the end of each quarter. The current quarter report of March to May is due 14 June 2016. If you have information from any of the past quarters, please add it to this first report.

Due to the short suspense date for the first quarter, Diane Stratton will be sharing this same information with the project EKIP coordinators.

For questions, please contact Michael Richards (currently at HQ for 6 months) 202-761-4558, Michael.G.Richards@usace.army.mil .

Many thanks for your support in this initiative, the Corps continues to be recognized as a major environmental education, environmental stewardship and recreation agency from CEQ, to Agency heads, and within our organization.

    Respectfully, Mary J. Coulombe
