Partnership OMBIL data QC
We ran the partnership detail report this morning and see that our projects are making good progress at entering their data. We just wanted to mention a few items of note, as we see some trends in the data.
1. Zero values across the board. Some of this may be due to the fact that people still aren't finished with their data entry, but if there is a partner showing up in the report with zeros entered for every data field, that partner should be checked off as having "No activity" so that it doesn't show up in the report.
2. Handshake partnerships. The handshake money that the project received from HQUSACE should go in the HQ Investment column. Every one of these partnerships should show values in that column, Corps Services column for staff time, and then any funds, materials, volunteer labor, or professional services that are provided by the partners. The values should match or come close to matching what was submitted on the handshake application financial sheet.
3. Corps Service column: We're still seeing a lot of blanks for this column. Every single partnership entered in OMBIL should have Corps staff time associated with it. Even simple contributions require someone to accept the donations and acknowledge the partner. More involved partner projects should show pretty high values in this column. Estimate staff hours invested in the partnership and multiply by the person's burdened labor rate.
Please share this message with the project staff who are entering data within your districts. The attached message that I sent out on October 9 also contains tips and items of note to watch out for.
As always, if your projects have questions or need assistance they can always call me or Alana Mesenbrink and we will be happy to walk them through the process. Please note that next week she and I are teaching the PROSPECT course in Nashville. We may not be able to respond immediately to calls or emails, but will do our best to get back to each person as soon as possible throughout the week.
