National Public Lands Day Fee Free Coupons and Fee-Free Day 27 September
Great News! It is not too late to get your site registered for NPLD and get your fee free coupons before the day of the event. The deadline has been extended to Monday, 8 September. You can still get the coupons if you register later, but you may not get them in time to hand out on the day of the event. Just click the box towards the end of the registration page to request coupons. It is ok if your event is not being held on 27 September - it is still eligible for the fee free coupons and can be registered as a NPLD event. Just enter the actual date of your event when registering.

We only have 213 Corps of Engineers sites registered so far and we would like to increase that number to at least 225!. It is a quick and easy process to get registered - Just go online to http://www.publiclandsday.org/register-site.

Some of the work that is being planned for the 213 sites includes: vegetation planting, roadside and shoreline clean up, grassland restoration, trail restoration, erosion control, butterfly garden improvements, wetland planting, and fish habitat work.

HQ Public Affairs will be issuing a News Release regarding the event next week. The News Release will be sent to your District and Divisions Public Affairs Office for their use.

Thank you for taking the time to organize and register your NPLD event. I am this year's coordinator for the Corps. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

    Thanks,
    Sue Gehrt
