National Public Lands Day Registration Open
September 27, 2014 marks the 21st anniversary of National Public Lands Day (NPLD). Over
the past few years, the Corps of Engineers has hosted more NPLD volunteer events than any
other federal agency. Let's keep going with that trend!
If you've got an event
planned, no matter how big or how small, don't forget to register it online at http://www.publiclandsday.org/register-
site This website also offers tips for planning NPLD events, suggestions for bringing
more volunteers to your event, contests, media toolkits, and more.
Here are a few

NPLD is a nationwide event
which encourages the public to volunteer their time to help care for, or simply to get out
and enjoy, their public lands. In 2013, 115 USACE lakes celebrated NPLD with more than
16,500 volunteers! Corps staff brought these volunteers together to clean 1,600 miles of
shoreline and maintain 135 miles of trails. In addition, 680 acres of habitat were improved.
Let's continue this tradition of NPLD excellence and bring even greater numbers of
volunteers and stewards to our lands and waters.
