    "Partnerships Team Leader" Vacancy Announcement
I want to be sure everyone in the NRM community is aware of the opening we currently have advertised. It is Vacancy Announcement No. FL026546

Natural Resources Management Branch, Operations Division, has received their vacancy announcement for an Outdoor Recreation Planner, GS 0023-13. The closing date is 17 March, 2002.

When you read the announcement, you'll see that it is for "Partnerships Team Leader" in the Recreation Programs Section of the NRM Branch. As I'm sure most everyone knows, George Tabb is the overall team leader of the Recreation Programs Section.

What's new, is that we've organized the Recreation Programs into three functions: Facilities and Programs (Judy Rice), Ranger Services (Steve Austin) and Partnerships (Vacancy).

The Partnerships Team Leader will address the following topics: Recreation Cost/Share, Private Sector issues, Challenge Partnerships, Contributions, Cooperative Agreements, Volunteers, Rec.Gov, Lewis & Clark Bicentennial,Tourism and that standard - "other duties as assigned".

As you can see by the above list, this is still mainstream Corps Recreation Programs work. I would encourage all interested parties to apply. The label of "Partnerships Team Leader" should not discourage anyone who has a solid base in the Corps Recreation Program and an interest in increasing our partnership base. I realize that many potential applicants may no have a particularly strong background in development of partnerships, but we are looking for vision and potential during this recruitment.

To view the announcement, go to http://www.cpol.army.mil/va/scripts/public.html?Submit=Return+to+Vacancy+Home+Page and type in the vacancy announcement number FL026546 to retrieve.
