    New Recreation.gov is announced
Today the availability of a newly enhanced Recreation.gov website was announced. The key improvements are: Expanded information on recreation on federal lands (not just for reservable activities and parks), activity and destination information, itineraries, and new photos focusing on recreation. The Corps is prominently shown on the front page: Allatoona Lake and Raystown Lake. In the video section, the Summer of Paddling video feature the Mississippi River National Water Trail. The featured places and articles will change about once a month, so there will be many more opportunities to showcase our wonderful places to enjoy Americas Great Outdoors. Attached is the press release and please note the quote from ASA(CW) Ms. Darcy. The Press Release is being pushed down from HQ through the PAO chain to distribute regionally and locally to help acquaint people with the new site. There will be a conference call with stakeholders tomorrow afternoon to discuss the site and get input from them about future needs. Please share this information to all of your staff. It is important that our employees know about these changes and can guide the public to the site and answer questions about what is there. Our folks did a terrific job in a very short time frame to supply the information for upgrades and new information. Ms. Ginny Dickerson, ERDC, has been the Corps point person on the website changes and on the collection of information. Others have supplied incredible photos, wrote itineraries (yet to be posted), and articles on activities. Thanks to all who have contributed and will in the future. Mary Respectfully, Mary J. Coulombe
