Recreation Use Fee Waiver For US Military Service Personnel
    1. The signed memorandum from Merdith W. B. Temple, Major General, USA, Acting Commander, which continues our current policy to waive day use fees for active service, military personnel and their dependants and to waive camping fees for those same personnel on mid or post deployment (reintegration) leave in support of Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). That same memo announces that effective immediately, we will accept the new "America the Beautiful" Federal Recreation Pass Program Interagency Annual Pass for Military personnel at Corps managed recreation areas as proof of eligibility for free day use and when leave orders to support OCO are presented, for free camping.

    2. Also attached are FAQ's and a news release. HQUSACE PAO is distributing the news release today to Division and District PAO's. Operations Project Management staff should coordinate with their respective District and MSC PAO Offices in developing localized news releases.

    3. The attached documents and instructions on how to handle a waiver in the National Reservation System's Field Manager software are also posted on the NRM Gateway website at http://corpslakes.us ace.army.mil/employees/usefees/waiver.html.

    4. The point of contact for the recreation use fee program in CECW-CO is Pep Persio at 202-761-0036.

    Regards
    RICHARD C. LOCKWOOD
