July 31, 2023 World Ranger Day - July 31, 2023
Today, We would like to recognize the amazing work conducted by USACE Park Rangers and Natural Resources Management professionals in honor of World Ranger Day. On July 31st, World Ranger Day is celebrated each year recognizing the significant contributions of park rangers, natural resources specialists, natural resource managers, and conservationists. World Ranger Day offers us a chance to recognize and support the vital work our USACE Park Rangers accomplish every day. As designated by the International Ranger Federation (IRF), "World Ranger Day is celebrated worldwide to commemorate rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage." The aim is to advocate for the professionalization of rangers and to ensure better recognition of the role of rangers around the world. We would like to thank our USACE Park Rangers and supporting staff for the great work accomplished each and every day to protect our missions, the natural resources, and more than 250 million annual visitors. USACE leadership is beyond proud of the conduct and dedication of our personnel in the field and cognizant of the many challenges you encounter each day, which have increased in response to new operational changes that this year has brought us. We ask that you continue to think safety first in your duties as we encourage the public to do the same. The USACE Critical Incident Stress Management Program (CISM) is available at any time when stress management is needed. The Corps' CISM team has trained peer supporters available to provide one-on-one interventions to people experiencing stress-related problems.
