This is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineer managed lake, however the recreation areas and campgrounds are managed by New Mexico State Parks. Federal Recreation Passports for these areas are not accepted.

Directions & Lake History/Factoid
Directions: Coming off of Route 66 Drive in Santa Rosa, NM turn on to N 2nd Street, go under railroad
tracks and turn right onto Eddie Avenue for approximately 1/2 mile and then turn left on N
8th Street. Continue to proceed on N 8th, go under the I-40 overpass and continue straight
(north)on Highway 91 (Joe & Louie Page Road) for approximately 7 miles until you get to
Santa Rosa Lake Project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Office is located approximately
two miles from the cattle guard and just after the Main Dam off to your right.
Factoid: Impounds the Pecos River approximately 121 mi E of Albuquerque. Follow direction signs
through city of Santa Rosa to lake. The visitor center contains an interesting display on
project area.
