Directions and Factoids
Directions: From Confluence, PA, go .5 miles south on PA 281.
From Rt 40 (Markleysburg), coming from West to East, turn left to head North on PA 281,
otherwise known as Mae West Road for 8 miles.
From Rt 40 (Addison), coming from East to West, turn right on PA 523 and travel
approximately 10 miles into Confluence.
Factoid: In the heart of the Laurel Highlands and spanning the Mason-Dixon line between
Pennsylvania and Maryland lays Youghiogheny River Lake. Boaters consider Youghiogheny
River Lake, with its 16-mile length and channels up to one-half mile wide, the best
powerboat, fishing, and water-skiing lake in southwestern Pennsylvania. The tail
waters of the dam are one of the few in Pennsylvania open for trout fishing year
round and are stocked by the Fish and Boat Commission on a regular basis throughout
the spring and summer.
NOTICE: Many states are discouraging or banning movement of firewood to control spread of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Not bringing wood from home to your campsite and not taking unused wood you procure while camping home with you is recommended -- required in some states. Check the following website to learn more: http://www.emeraldashborer.info/
