Directions and Factoids
Directions: Directions to Afton Landing: From Muskogee, Travel north on US-69 toward Wagoner for approximately 13 miles. Turn right on OK-51 W and travel west for approximately 5 miles. Turn left on E. 731 Road and travel west for approximately .3 mile. Turn left on S. 221 Rd. and travel south for .5 mile to park entrance.

Factoid: Chouteau Lock and Dam 17 was primarily constructed for the improvement of the Arkansas River and its tributaries for commercial barge traffic, but offers three river park recreation areas. These locations are perfect settings for fishermen and kayaks/canoes. Chouteau is the first lock and dam structure on the Verdigris River after the navigation channel leaves the main stem of the Arkansas River. The lock is approximately 4 miles northwest of Okay in Wagoner County. Lock 17 pool proves 18.7 miles of navigable waters extending upstream to the Newt Graham Lock and Dam 18.
