Directions: From Belton, 3 miles north on TX 317, 2 miles west on FM 439, 1 miles north on FM 2271.
Factoid: Construction on the Belton Dam began in 1949 and was completed in 1954. Belton Lake is
situated on the Leon River and borders Fort Hood and the cities of Belton and Temple, in
Central Texas. Enjoy boating on 12,385 surface acres with scenic views of limestone
outcrops and mixed oak forest. The Corps of Engineers operates 15 parks, including 194
campsites, 120 picnic sites, 17 boat ramps, and many other amenities on Belton Lake.
Visitors can enjoy wide variety of outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, boating,
paddle sports, or just having a picnic. Consider staying in one of our campgrounds when
coming to town for a concert, rodeo, monster truck rally, Comic-Con, or some other event
at the Bell County Expo Center just a short drive away. If cooking on one of the charcoal
grills provided at your campsite isnt what you desire, enjoy some world class barbeque or
