Directions: From Raleigh, 30 miles south on US 1. From Sanford, 15 miles north on US 1.

Lake History

Factoid: B. E. Jordan Dam and Lake is located near the center of North Carolina with a large population base in a 75-mile radius of the project. It is a major attraction for recreation seekers with facilities such as campsites, picnic areas, beaches, nature trails, etc. available. The N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation operates the majority of the recreation areas. Wildlife subimpoundments for waterfowl management are leased to the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission who manage the fields to provide wildlife habitat and wildlife-oriented recreation.
