Directions: The Lock is not currently open to visitors.
Factoid: Smithland Locks & Dam is located on the Ohio River at river mile 918.5 near Brookport, IL.
At the time of its construction, Smithland was the largest twin lock chamber system. Each
chamber is 1200' long by 110' wide.
NOTICE: Many states are discouraging or banning movement of firewood to control spread of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Not bringing wood from home to your campsite and not taking unused wood you procure while camping home with you is recommended -- required in some states.
