Directions and Factoids
Directions: From Bismarck, ND, travel north via US highway 83 approximately 70 miles and turn west on Highway 200 toward Riverdale, ND.

Factoid: Garrison Dam, ND is located 75 miles northwest of Bismarck on the Missouri River. Lake Sakakawea is 178 miles long with more shoreline than the coast of California and extends from Riverdale to Trenton. There are Several recreation and wildlife areas around Lake Sakakawea offering outdoor recreation opportunities such as camping, boating, fishing, sailing and hunting. It is home to the North Country Scenic Trails Western Terminus. This trail travels across several states from New York to North Dakota and is 4510 miles long. There are several visitor centers such as the Garrison Dam Fish Hatchery, Lake Audubon, MHA Interpretive Center, and Knife River Indian Villages.
