See the Cougar Lake website for additional information. Primary recreational opportunities are listed below.

Directions and Factoids
Directions: From the intersection of I-5 and OR-126, travel 5.2 miles east on OR-126. Turn left onto OR-126 E/Main St and travel 38.9 miles. Turn right on Cougar Dam Rd/NF-19 and travel 0.4 miles. Take a slight right onto Aufderheide Drive and travel 2.8 miles.

Factoid: With the beauty of the McKenzie River, this scenic 1,280 acre lake offers many recreational opportunities. There are several boat launches on the reservoir and it is popular trout fishing spot. There are visitor viewpoints at both sides of the Cougar Dam that offer spectacular views of the valley downstream and the vistas upstream around the lake. Most of the recreation areas are located within the mountainous Willamette National Forest and are managed by the U.S. Forest Service.
